Designing for tomorrow’s medical care means creating flexible spaces that can accommodate everything from highly technical imaging and treatment devices to calm, recuperative spaces for therapeutic discovery and recovery. Whether it’s obstetrics and gynecology or cardiovascular and bone health, nutritional services or mental or behavioral health, our job is to provide the right setting for your patients to thrive.
We believe in preserving the promise and playfulness of childhood, and we believe that architecture can help accomplish that. When we design a space for children’s care, we work to instill a calm confidence, as well as facilitate a playful energy that will keep patients’ and families’ spirits high.
Anyone who has stepped foot in a pediatric healthcare facility in a hospital or in a clinic will agree that designing a healthcare facility for children requires careful consideration of, and competency in, a diverse range of skills. A children’s care space needs to consider the families as well as the patients, and provide for ample opportunity for families to be together and maintain their connection throughout care. At the same time, we know the demands of healthcare require flexible spaces, highly dynamic team work areas, and the need to accommodate ever-changing technological devices.
