A dual graduate in architecture and civil engineering from Texas Tech, Mike’s career spans major industrial projects, complex healthcare facilities, and national retail programs. As Director of Architecture, he mentors and empowers his team, sharing knowledge, encouraging growth, and ensuring that each project is executed with precision and vision. Known for his humor, warmth, and problem-solving mindset, Mike sees architecture as a 3-D puzzle, one where each piece fits together to create spaces that inspire, endure, and serve.

With more than 40 years of architectural experience, Ray Berry brings deep expertise and genuine passion to every project he leads. For the past two decades, he has specialized in cancer center design, traveling across the country to create facilities that support healing and innovation. Based in Kentucky, Ray also oversees a wide range of projects including medical, educational, worship, and community developments. Known for his visionary approach and collaborative leadership, Ray thrives on the “thrill of the chase”, from early site visits and schematic concepts to delivering finished spaces that exceed expectations. A lifelong architect who began working in the field as a teenager, he holds licenses in multiple states including California and New York. When not sketching or managing complex projects, Ray can be found exploring hiking trails with his family, strumming his guitar, or discovering new Starbucks around the world.

With 25 years of architectural and planning experience, Senait Kassa brings a unique blend of technical expertise, sustainable design insight, and empathetic leadership to every project she leads. She has managed complex projects from concept to construction, skillfully navigating budgets, timelines, and stakeholder coordination while keeping design intent front and center. A former president of AIA Central Kentucky and a LEED Accredited Professional, Senait is as passionate about mentoring and collaboration as she is about great design. Known for her ability to bring clarity to complex situations, she approaches each project as an opportunity to listen, learn, and shape spaces that are both functional and meaningful.

Nathan Coyle brings 25 years of rich, varied architectural experience to his role at Trapani. With degrees in English, Studio Art, and Architecture, Nathan’s perspective blends creative storytelling with rigorous technical skill. Over his career, he has worked across nearly every building type, from public facilities to design/build industrial projects, embracing each challenge with flexibility and a spirit of collaboration. Known for his reliability and time awareness, Nathan is often the steady hand guiding projects from concept to completion. Whether he’s exploring schematic options, refining details with coffee and headphones, or responding thoughtfully to client feedback, he thrives on turning complex challenges into elegant solutions.

Doug Sturgeon brings decades of architectural design and project management experience to Trapani, beginning his career in 1978 with hand-drafted residential work and evolving alongside the industry’s tools and technologies. Known for his humility and team-centered approach, Doug views each project as a privilege—an opportunity to partner closely with clients, understand their goals, and help translate their vision into functional, lasting spaces. He contributes throughout the full project lifecycle, from early planning through final construction, supporting the firm’s principal architects and coordinating key steps that keep projects moving forward. Doug thrives on building relationships, finding that many clients become friends along the way. Outside the office, he enjoys hiking with his wife and appreciating the quiet moments at the end of each day.

Taylor Berry blends over 12 years of architectural experience with a sharp design sensibility and deep technical expertise. A University of Cincinnati graduate fluent in Revit since college, she’s known as a go-to resource for graphics, presentations, and specialized cancer care design. Over her six years at Trapani, Taylor has developed expertise in treatment room layouts and interior aesthetics, bringing both precision and creativity to complex healthcare projects. She thrives on solving spatial puzzles, crafting clear visuals, and collaborating with teammates under tight deadlines.
